Your storm plan

Storm on the way? Most of us only act once the panic has started. These four steps, based on RSPCA advice, help you get ready before the first rumble instead.

  1. Make a safe base. A crate or quiet corner with a blanket over it, away from windows. For cats, a covered hiding spot. Set it up early and let them choose to go in.
  2. Wrap on early. Introduce the wrap on a few calm days first so it feels normal, then put it on before the first rumble, not in the middle of it. For cats, the wrap is optional.
  3. Stay steady yourself. Your pet reads you. Sit nearby, speak low, and carry on as normal. Comforting them is fine.
  4. Reward the calm. A frozen Lick Mat, a Snuffle Mat or a few treats give them something to focus on while it rumbles.

Want the whole thing done for you? The Storm Kit comes with the wrap, a free Lick Mat and our four-week Storm Ready plan, with every calm-day step laid out. Cats have their own kit.

Every pet is different. If your pet's fear is severe or getting worse, talk to your vet.

Deep breath. You've both got this.
